Comment:
Cysticercus bovis in muscle. This is the larval stage of Taenia saginata which is the commonest cestode parasite of man who become infected by eating under cooked beef containing these larvae. A cysticercus becomes infective within 7 to 10 weeks and remains viable for 4 to 9 months; It is filled with a clear fluid, has a single inverted protoscolex without hooklets and measure up to 10 mm in diameter.
